Dr. Katia Freire De Almeida General Practitioner

Dr. Katia is a remarkable individual who brings her steadfast passion and deep devotion to the world of medicine. With extensive experience in the field, she has earned a reputation as a highly skilled and knowledgeable doctor. Her commitment to healthcare is unparalleled, and her patients benefit tremendously from her expertise and compassionate care.

Dr. Katia possesses a notable passion for Paediatrics, Women's health, Antenatal care, and Chronic disease management. One area of medicine that particularly captivates Dr. Katia is women's health. With a keen interest in this field, she has dedicated herself to understanding and addressing the unique medical needs of women. Furthermore, her previous specialization as a Paediatric specialist in Brazil has equipped her with invaluable insights into the health and well-being of children, making her a well-rounded and versatile medical professional.

Having recently relocated from Western Australia, Dr. Katia is now accepting bookings at the esteemed Healesville Medical Centre. When she's not working in the medical field, she has a passion for staying active. She enjoys a variety of activities, ranging from boxing and bike riding to walking trails and working out at the gym. She also finds solace in practicing yoga and mindfulness. 

Dr. Fereshteh Naghavizadeh General Practitioner

Dr Fereshteh has a special interest in Skin procedures, Paediatrics, Women's health, and Chronic diseases. She has been serving at the Healesville Medical Centre since 2016, and her familiarity with the Yarra Valley area is evident as she has previously worked in Woori Yallock. Born in Iran, Dr Fereshteh pursued her education there and achieved her Doctorate of Medicine. She then gained further experience in France, where she worked for 11 years in various university hospitals, specializing in emergency medicine, emergency imaging, and clinical nutrition.

Outside of her medical practice, Dr Fereshteh indulges in a range of hobbies. She enjoys spending her spare time painting, listening to music, engaging in podcasts, and tending to her garden. Dr Fereshteh's diverse interests contribute to her ability to connect with patients on a deeper level and provide holistic care.

With her extensive medical background and passion for her work, Dr Fereshteh is dedicated to providing the best possible care to her patients. She continually seeks to stay updated on the latest advancements in her areas of expertise and is committed to delivering personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs. Dr. Ananthan Pratheeb General Practitioner

Dr Ananthan has a special interest in Skin cancer removal, Bladder irrigation, Haematoma, abscess and small lipoma removal, Sutures, PEG tube changes, ENT procedures and Orthopaedic backslab for hand fractures.

Dr Ananthan obtained his MBBS in 2004 and he subsequently underwent hospital training in numerous areas of General Medicine, General Surgery and ENT in Sri Lanka. Moved to Australia in 2009 and became a member of The Royal Australian College of GPs and certified by the Australian Medical Council (AMC).

He has worked in Medicine, Cardiology, Oncology, Geriatric medicine, Renal medicine, Vascular and Orthopaedic surgery in Royal Darwin Hospital. 

He moved to Victoria as GP in 2019 and worked in the Goulburn Valley for 5 years. He has a special interest in Preventive Health, Chronic Disease Management, Cardiology and ENT.

He is passionate about Dermatology and minor Skin Cancer removal. He skillfully performs minor ENT procedures as well as minor surgical procedures, including Implanon insertion and removal. He is interested in all aspects of general practice and family medicine. 

Outside of his medical practice, Dr Pratheeb indulges in a range of hobbies. He enjoys playing soft ball cricket and Tennis. 

Dr. Joel Monmolin 

General Practitioner

Dr. Joel Monmolin is a highly regarded General Practitioner with expertise in Men's Health, Mental Health, Plant-Based Medicine, and Occupational Medicine. He obtained his qualifications from London, UK and has completed rotations in the West Midlands region of the UK.

Dr. Joel is passionate about practicing holistic medicine and providing preventative care to his patients. He believes in taking a comprehensive approach to healthcare, addressing both physical and mental well-being.

In his free time, he enjoys playing football and tennis, as well as engaging in various fitness activities. As an ardent supporter of Manchester United and the England national team, he proudly holds the traditional terminology for the sport, refusing to call  it as "soccer."

Dr. Joel Monmolin is committed to delivering exceptional medical care and promoting a healthy lifestyle for all his patients.

Tarsh Messfeldt Practice Nurse

Tarsh, as a Registered Nurse with more than 2 decades of experience, brings patience, an easy-going communication style, and a sweet sense of humor to Healesville Medical Centre, making it easy for her to talk to patients and family members. 

17 years within the busy public hospital post op ward, and 3 years in General Practice, gave Tarsh vast experience in the way of:

• Assessment of acutely unwell patients
• Effective communication within a team
• The ability to make decisions for patient care independently in a patient’s home when necessary
• Post operative wound management
• Intravenous cannulation/drug administration

As an Authorised Nurse Immuniser, Tarsh is passionate about chronic wound management, immunisation, chronic disease management and iron infusions

Tarsh loves all things “wounds” – from acute lacerations to chronic venous/arterial ulcers, to burns – equipped with extensive knowledge on wound management.



Strong communication skills and a kind soul have been Tarsh’s assets in her long career dedicated to service.  She cares about each person that comes through her treatment room and has the patience to explain what & why we do the things, that we do at Healesville Medical Centre.

Ashleigh O'Neill Practice Nurse

Ashleigh O'Neill, as a Practice Nurse with extensive experience, is highly committed and devoted to enhancing patient care and advancing health outcomes across diverse populations.

Ashleigh's career shows her unwavering dedication to improving healthcare quality. She prioritizes patients by staying educated, expanding her skills, and providing top-level care. Ashleigh excels in managing chronic diseases and providing preventive care. With a deep understanding of complexities and challenges, she develops tailored treatment plans.

With her extensive knowledge and expertise, she plays a vital role in providing invaluable assistance in managing chronic diseases, creating comprehensive healthcare treatment plans, conducting thorough population health checks, offering proactive preventive care measures, administering a wide range of immunizations, and delivering expert wound care with utmost precision and care.
